Taking
it's name and baroque theme from the 17th century building in which
it is located, the entrance to the Palau Dalmases is found at the
bottom of a rich arched stairwell and interior courtyard, and is
close to the Picasso Museum and the Iglesia Santa Maria del Mar.
The
idea of the proprietor is to provide a complete aesthetic experience
which can be experienced by all the senses. As such, besides visual
splendour of the interior décor and architecture, the bar
also offers fruit juices to compliment the normal range of drinks,
live opera, and for the sense of smell, displays of fresh fruit
and flowers.
For
music enthusiasts, live opera can be heard every Thursday evening,
from 11 p.m., with fragments of different opera from Händel,
Purcell, Mozart, Rossini and Puccini amongst others, performed
by the Kontraveus opera company. When live opera is not playing,
the Palau Dalmases is enveloped in pre-recorded classical music
sounds.
Available
for hire or organised parties, the Palau Dalamses is a unique
location in which it is possible to submerge yourself in a bygone
age and culture.
Palau
Dalmases is open from 8 p.m. till 2 a.m., Tuesday to Saturday,
and from 6 p.m. till 10 p.m. on Sunday. It is closed on Mondays.
Entrance costs 18 € which includes your first drink.
