This
restaurant is located in a favored place, Moll of Barcelona, in
the commercial building World Trade Center. Ruccula offers elaborated
plates of Mediterranean and market food, taking care of the maximum
details in its presentation, service and decoration. The same
staff is also in charge of the attached room, named Mediterranean,
destined for the accomplishment of banquets, business dinners
and conventions.
Contemplating
the wonderful views that Barcelona's Port offers while we taste
good and healthy dishes of the valued Mediterranean cooking is
a whole luxury. All that is possible thanks to restaurants such
as Ruccula and the Mediterranean room, a practically new place
specialized in authentic Mediterranean and market cuisine, very
interesting and totally recommended for all those that want to
have an unforgettable day.
One
of the things that attracts the attention in Ruccula is the minimalist
decoration - between a New York and Japanese style - rather cold
and sober with grey and brown tones, so fashionable actually.
The candles and lights that illuminate the place in the night
offer a romantic atmosphere, whereas during the day the brightness
of big windows is the predominant feature.
Ruccula
and the Mediterranean room present a great variety of plates, where
the originality of its presentation stands out, as well as the right
combination of colours and ingredients that we find. The Maître
of the restaurant, Jordi Miquel suggests the most interesting plates
that are worth to be tried. Between these plates, we find puff pastry
of fried egg, with foie, which is the star plate of the restaurant
and Cap Roig's cake (made of fish) with vinaigrette of Pomodoro.
The Pyramid of macaroni au gratin with Idiazábal cheese and
vinaigrette is a surprising plate, very well presented, that will
satiate the appetite of adults and children.
Between the meats and fishes, all very varied with complements and
sauces that give them a special touch, it is necessary to distinguish
"Goujonettes" of cazón (meat) with banana and lime
to Toigsrós style and Onglet with Chimichurri sauce (very
tender meat with Argentinean sauce that offers a tasty and curious
mixture to the palate). We can not forget to taste desserts; we
have fondant chocolate with thyme ice-cream, (audacious dessert
with hot chocolate that will delight all chocolate lovers).
The
average price of the carte ranges between 24-30 €, and any
commensal will remain totally satisfied. If a more economic thing
is preferred, Ruccula offers a midday menu for 15 €. There
is also a menu for 12 € in the bar's restaurant. Besides,
Ruccula possesses two private rooms designed for business lunches
and dinners for groups of approximately 12 persons. Ruccula presents
live jazz music every night.
The
same staff also offers a catering service and takes charge of
the attached room, named Mediterranean. This room is intended
for banquets, conventions and business meetings. Mediterranean
has an area of 300 m2, views to the sea, heating or air conditioning
(according to the season), piped music and security service. It
has a capability for 280 commensals and up to 450 persons if standing
on foot for cocktail service. We can choose between 6 different
business menus, buffets, cocktails or 6 luxury menus.
