It is a pleasure to go in the hotel and admire its Neoclassical beauty. The hotel is located in the heart of Barcelona, in the cultural and shopping centre, just a few steps from Plaça Catalunya and the Cathedral. The building has been added to the Artistic Heritage catalogue of the city. Pedro Bassegoda i Mateu built this small palace in 1876, and in 1998 it opened its doors as a hotel. The hotel still preserves its original Neoclassical façade which Romantic and Baroque motifs. The entry hall, which would be large enough to let in the carriages from the beginning of the century, leads us to the interior courtyard that has been renovated according to the original model. The hotel reception and bar are currently in this courtyard. There we can admire the original marble staircase, typical of the finest houses of those times. Enjoy the breakfast buffet served under a unique marquee in the hotel garden. Our new (2008) exterior swimming pool will be probably available from June the 20Th. Enjoy its overflowing waterfall, as well as the exterior solarium with wood surface and a landscaped zone with palms. A new restaurant (2008) is now open at Catalonia Albinoni.
